How Hanover Lift Garage Door Co. collects, uses, stores and protects the information you give us.
Last updated: August 6, 2026
1. Who we are
Hanover Lift Garage Door Co. (“Hanover Lift”, “we”, “us”) is a garage door repair and installation company operating from 522 Hanover Street, New York, NY 10007, owned by Jacqueline Goebel. We are the data controller for information collected through this website and through our service operations.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to quote, schedule and complete work:
- Information you give us: name, phone number, email address, service address or ZIP code, and the description of your garage door issue submitted through our estimate form, by email or by phone.
- Service records: job notes, parts installed, before/after photographs of the work area, invoices and warranty registrations.
- Automatically collected data: IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed and time on page, collected through our web server logs and, with your consent, analytics cookies.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and we do not ask for Social Security numbers, government ID numbers or full payment card numbers through this website.
3. How we use your information
- To respond to estimate requests and schedule service appointments.
- To perform the work, invoice it and honor the warranty.
- To send appointment confirmations, arrival texts and follow-up service reminders.
- To keep records required by New York State tax, licensing and consumer protection rules.
- To measure which pages and advertisements bring homeowners to us, and to improve the site accordingly.
- To detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse or technical problems.
4. Legal bases and your choices
We process contact details to take steps at your request before entering into a service contract, and to perform that contract. Analytics and advertising cookies are set only on the basis of your consent, which you give or withhold through the cookie banner and may change at any time by clearing this site's storage in your browser.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
This site uses a small number of cookies and local-storage entries:
- Essential: one local-storage key that remembers your cookie choice so the banner does not reappear on every page. This cannot be switched off.
- Analytics (consent required): aggregate page-view measurement that tells us which service pages people actually read.
- Advertising (consent required): conversion measurement tags, which may include Microsoft Advertising (UET) and similar services, used to see whether an advertisement led to a service request. These may set cookies in your browser and allow the provider to recognize your browser across sites.
Until you accept, no analytics or advertising tag is loaded. You can also block cookies in your browser settings; the site remains fully usable.
6. Sharing your information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising in exchange for money. We disclose information only to:
- Service providers who host our website, send our email, process card payments and keep our accounting records, each bound by contract to use the data only for those purposes.
- Advertising and analytics platforms, in aggregated or hashed form, where you have consented.
- Insurers, legal advisers or authorities where required by law, court order, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
7. How long we keep it
Estimate enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted after 18 months. Completed job records, invoices and warranty documentation are retained for seven years to satisfy tax and warranty obligations. Web server logs are rotated after 90 days.
8. Security
Data is transmitted over TLS, stored on access-controlled systems, and available only to the staff who need it to do their job. Paper work orders are stored in a locked cabinet at the Hanover Street shop. No system is perfect; if a breach ever affects your information we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by New York law.
9. Your rights
You may request a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, withdraw consent for analytics and advertising cookies, or ask us to stop sending service reminders. Write to careers@garagedoorrepairseabrooktx.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are a California resident you may exercise the rights described in the CCPA/CPRA at the same address, and we will not discriminate against you for doing so.
10. Third-party links
Our pages may link to manufacturer documentation or mapping services. Once you follow such a link, that provider's own privacy policy governs what they collect. We have no control over their practices.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information we will update this page and revise the “last updated” date. Material changes affecting existing customers will also be sent by email.
