What we fix

Repairs, replacements and tune-ups — all under one roof

Every van carries springs, cables, rollers, hinges, safety sensors and two opener models, so roughly nine out of ten calls are finished in a single visit. No parts runs, no second trip charge.

Torsion & extension springs

A snapped spring is the #1 call we get. We stock 26 wire sizes on every van, replace in pairs, and cycle-test the door before we pack up.

Most jobs $189–$345 installed

Openers & smart controls

Belt, chain and wall-mount jackshaft units, plus Wi-Fi retrofits, keypads, remotes and safety-eye realignment.

Repairs from $109 · New units from $429

Cables, drums & rollers

Frayed cable, off-track door or grinding nylon rollers — re-cabled, re-drummed and balanced the same visit.

From $139

Panels, sections & hardware

Dented bottom sections, cracked struts, bent tracks and worn hinges replaced with matching stock where available.

Quoted on site

Roll-up & commercial doors

Storefront rolling steel, gates and warehouse sectionals kept moving with scheduled preventative service.

Contracts available

Safety inspections & tune-ups

A 25-point balance, reversal and force test that catches the failure before it strands your car inside.

$119 flat, credited to repairs

Why homeowners call us back

Straight answers, flat quotes, no upsell theater

Most people meet a garage door company on their worst morning — car trapped, kids late, door hanging crooked. We built Hanover Lift around removing the friction from that moment: one technician, one price, one visit.

  • Flat-rate pricing. The number we give on the phone is the number on the invoice unless you approve extra work in writing.
  • No commission technicians. Our crew is salaried, so nobody earns more by selling you a door you don't need.
  • Photo documentation. You get before/after photos of every part we replace, emailed with the invoice.
  • Real warranty. Two years on parts and labor, transferable if you sell the home.
  • Clean exits. Old springs, cable and packaging leave with us and get recycled at a licensed scrap yard.

How a visit works

Four steps, start to finish

No dispatch runaround, no "the technician will call you back to discuss pricing."

You call or write

Tell us the symptom — loud bang, door stuck halfway, opener humming. We book a two-hour arrival window, often the same day.

We diagnose on site

Balance test, spring cycle count, track alignment and safety reversal check. Takes about 15 minutes and costs nothing if you proceed.

You approve a flat price

Written quote on a tablet, itemized. You sign only what you want done. Nothing starts before that.

We finish & document

Repair, lubrication, re-balance, safety retest, photos emailed, workspace swept. Warranty registered automatically.

Stocked service van with garage door springs, rollers and hardware
Every van, every morning

Stocked to finish

The parts are already on the truck

A second trip costs you a day and costs us a customer. So each van is restocked nightly from our Hanover Street shop with the hardware that covers the overwhelming majority of NYC doors:

  • Torsion springs, 26 wire/length combinations
  • Extension springs & safety containment cables
  • Lift cables, drums and center bearings
  • Nylon and steel rollers, hinges, brackets
  • Safety sensors, wall consoles, remotes, keypads
  • Belt-drive and jackshaft openers, two models

In their words

Reviews from around the boroughs

Collected from post-service emails. Full names shortened at customer request.

★★★★★

"Spring went at 6:40am with my car behind it. Called at 7, Marcus was there by 9:15 and I was driving by 10. He showed me the broken coil and the cycle count — no theatrics, no scare talk."

Danielle R. — Bay Ridge, Brooklyn

★★★★★

"Two other outfits quoted a full door replacement. Hanover Lift replaced one section and re-balanced it for a fraction of that. It's been eleven months, still silent."

Paul V. — Forest Hills, Queens

★★★★★

"We manage four small buildings and put them all on their maintenance plan. Reports arrive with photos and we haven't had an emergency shutdown since."

Ines M. — property manager, Manhattan
